Capsugel will acquire Oregon-based Bend Research and make the 38-year-old drug formulation specialist part of its dosage-form solutions unit. Capsugel, a gelatin capsule maker, has been looking to grow since 2011, when Pfizer sold it to the investment firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. Between about 1998 and 2008, Bend worked exclusively with Pfizer.
