Big Merger Set In Pharma Software

The French software company Cegedim has agreed to acquire its New Jersey-based competitor Dendrite International for about $751 million in cash. Cegedim says the purchase will create a major player in sales, marketing, clinical, and compliance software for the pharmaceutical and life sciences industries. The firm's combined annual sales will be about $1.1 billion.
