Internet merchant Amazon has introduced Kindle, a $399 portable electronic book reader capable of wirelessly downloading and storing up to 200 books. Start-up firm E Ink's imaging-film technology, originally developed at MIT, gives Kindle's display the look and readability of paper without the need for a battery-draining backlight.
