Battelle has opened a radiographic center at its Columbus, Ohio, headquarters that can provide 3-D imagery of objects to help analyze and engineer materials at the microscopic level. Powered with X-ray computed tomography equipment, the center’s imaging system can resolve details as small as 50 µm and can penetrate steel items as thick as 1 inch.
