BASF Powers Up Lithium Batteries

BASF is leading a German consortium formed to develop new generations of lithium-ion batteries for use in electric-powered vehicles. Also involved are 17 other partners from German industry and science. Germany's Ministry of Education & Research is funding the project, called HE-Lion, with nearly $30 million. Consortium partners will provide a matching amount.
