Germany’s Merck Buys Chinese Pigment Firm

Merck KGaA has acquired Suzhou Taizhu Technology Development, a Chinese supplier of special-effects pigments, for close to $41 million. Taizhu is located in Taicang, near Shanghai, and has 300 employees. Merck says the firm’s sales of more than $20 million last year make it one of China’s biggest effects pigment makers.
