Sigma-Aldrich’s SAFC Hitech unit plans to invest $2 million to expand production of trimethylgallium (TMG) at its plant in Bromborough, England. SAFC started producing TMG to serve the semiconductor industry. However, the company says the expansion will help it satisfy growing demand for TMG used in the manufacture of high-brightness light-emitting diodes.
