Akzo’s new plant will serve its functional chemicals business.

AkzoNobel has opened a $380 million complex in Ningbo, China, that will produce chelates, ethyleneamines, and organic peroxides when fully operational next year. At an opening ceremony, CEO Hans Wijers said that the plant will help Akzo meet its goal of doubling revenues in China to $3 billion by 2015.
