Indorama To Buy Polyester Maker

Thailand-based polyester giant Indorama Ventures has reached an agreement to buy PT Polypet Karyapersada, an Indonesia-based polyethylene terephthalate producer. Polypet has an annual PET capacity of 100,800 metric tons in Cilegon, West Java, adjacent to an existing Indorama PET plant. Indorama says integrating the two plants will lower operating costs.
