Lanxess Expands Dichlorobenzene

Lanxess has expanded production of dichlorobenzene by 15% with the addition of a $4 million crystallizer unit at its Leverkusen, Germany, site. The crystallizer produces high-purity p-dichlorobenzene, for which demand has been increasing. The aromatic chemical is used to make polyphenylene sulfide, a flame-retardant plastic used in electronics and aviation applications.
