Clariant Sets R&D Center In Shanghai

Clariant plans to set up a catalyst R&D center in Shanghai that will focus on the Chinese coal-based chemical market. The world’s first two coal-to-propylene complexes started up with Clariant’s methanol-to-propylene and methanol synthesis catalysts, the company says. To open next year, the Shanghai center will also develop base metal catalysts for hydrogenation.
