SABIC and Molecular Rebar Design, a carbon nanotube specialist based in Austin, Texas, have agreed to form a nanomaterial joint venture called Black Diamond Structures. The joint venture plans to commercialize unentangled nanotubes developed at Molecular Rebar, which was founded by former Dow Chemical scientists, for energy storage, consumer electronics, and other applications.
