The Swiss specialty chemical maker Clariant has acquired a 30% stake in the health and personal care division of Beraca, a Brazilian supplier of ingredients drawn mainly from the Amazon rainforest and other Brazilian sources. Clariant says the purchase will enhance its natural ingredients portfolio and that it may get a majority stake in the business in the future.
