BASF has acquired Innofil3D, a Dutch producer of filaments used in three-dimensional printing. BASF already sells plastic pellets used to make such filaments, which are extruded to manufacture objects in the layer-by-layer 3-D printing process. “With this acquisition, BASF is moving one step further along the value chain,” says Volker Hammes, managing director for BASF New Business.
