BASF’s Huntsville, Ala., facility recently produced its 400 millionth catalytic converter. The company noted the milestone at a recent event announcing the completion of an 18-month expansion project at the site. The Huntsville plant opened in 1974. The first catalytic converters, which reduce emissions from auto exhaust, were installed on cars the following year.
