Gates backs Novartis infectious disease drug

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation will give $6.5 million to Novartis to advance development of KDU731, a drug being developed for the treatment of cryptosporidiosis, a diarrheal disease that is one of the leading causes of childhood mortality.
