Wacker starts up silicon expansion

Wacker's silicon production in Holla, Norway
Wacker Chemie has started up a new furnace at its silicon metal plant in Holla, Norway, increasing site capacity by 40%. The start-up completes 2.5 years of construction and an investment of more than $100 million. Silicon metal is a major raw material for Wacker.
