Carbon to methanol starts in China

Jiangsu Sailboat's new methanol plant

The Chinese chemical firm Jiangsu Sailboat has started up a carbon dioxide-to-methanol plant at the Shenghong Petrochemical Industrial Park in China. The technology for the plant comes from Reykjavik, Iceland–based Carbon Recycling International. The plant can make 100,000 metric tons (t) of methanol per year from 150,000 t of carbon dioxide.
