Wacker says it has researched biotechnology in Munich since the 1980s.

Wacker Chemie plans to build a biotechnology center at its corporate research facility in Munich, Germany, that will include laboratories and a pilot plant across 2,000 m2 on three floors. The company describes the project as a double-digit-million-euro venture aimed at consolidating research. Wacker says it wants its Biosolutions division to contribute $1 billion in sales by 2030.
