BASF will sell its Georgia kaolin businesses

BASF will sell its kaolin clay business in the state of Georgia to the minerals supplier KaMin. The business has 440 employees and annual sales of kaolin—used in ceramics and paper, and as a filler—of about $175 million. A BASF refinery catalyst business located with the kaolin operations is not part of the deal. Earlier in November, BASF agreed to sell an electronic chemical business to Entegris for $90 million. And BASF recently sold its water treatment joint venture, Solenis, to Platinum Equity for $5.25 billion.
