Balchem will buy vitamin K maker Kappa Bioscience

The specialty ingredient firm Balchem will acquire Kappa Bioscience, a Norwegian maker of vitamin K, for about $338 million. Based in New Hampton, New York, Balchem produces the animal nutrition ingredient choline chloride and chelated minerals for human health. The company says entering the vitamin K business fits its strategy of expanding in the specialty nutrient field.
