Novozymes has agreed to acquire the Illinois-based probiotics firm Microbiome Labs for $125 million cash. Founded in 2012, Microbiome produces branded and private-label supplements for gut health and immune support, among other claims. The company has 80 employees and had sales of about $40 million in 2020. Novozymes says Microbiome’s fast-growing sales will benefit its OneHealth human health initiative.
