Haltermann becomes world’s largest cyclopentane maker

Haltermann Carless has opened a hydrogenation plant in Speyer, Germany, that it says makes the company the world’s largest producer of cyclopentane, used as a blowing agent for insulation foams. The hydrogenation plant will also produce middle distillates, which are solvents used in the drug and printing ink industries, Haltermann says.
