by Michael McCoy
July 11, 2020 | A version of this story appeared in Volume 98, Issue 27

Nouryon plans to build a 35,000-metric-ton-per-year facility in Ningbo, China, to produce t-butyl alcohol and t-butyl hydroperoxide, intermediates for its organic peroxides business. Raw material will be supplied by a joint venture of Huntsman and Sinopec in Nanjing, China. Nouryon says it currently imports t-butyl hydroperoxide to make organic peroxides at the site.
