Solvay expands output of biobased solvents

1,2-Isopropylideneglycerol

Solvay has opened a second plant in Brazil for its Augeo line of biobased solvents, more than tripling production capacity to 20,000 metric tons per year. The solvents use glycerin as one of their raw materials. One example is Augeo Clean Multi, intended for use in multipurpose cleaners. Its chemical name is 1,2-isopropylideneglycerol.
