The Swiss start-up Climeworks has raised $75 million from undisclosed investors to expand its capacity to remove carbon dioxide from air. The company’s modular direct air capturemachines draw in air with fans, then capture CO2 on the surface of a selective filter material. A temperature increase releases the trapped CO2, which can be stored or used as a raw material.
