Mars pet food packaging to use recycled plastic

Mars says it is launching a European pilot program to incorporate recycled polypropylene into some of its pet food packaging. The packaging firm Huhtamaki will supply Mars with packaging made of polypropylene that Sabic produced with raw material generated from used plastics. Mars has goals of using 30% recycled plastic and reducing virgin plastic use by 25%.
