Beer maker Corona will test out six-pack rings made from plant-based biodegradable fibers in its home country of Mexico. Typically made of polyethylene, six-pack rings are considered one of the most insidious forms of plastic waste when they end up in the oceans. The new rings come out of a partnership with Parley for the Oceans, a group that engages in sustainability programs.
