Lanxess is launching a line of methylene diphenyl diisocyanate polyether prepolymers that contain biobased content. The prepolymers, called Adiprene Green, are made with starch-based polyols and can reduce CO2 impact by 20-30% versus fossil-fuel based prepolymers, the chemical firm says. They can be used in polyurethane applications like roll covers, wheels, and nonpneumatic tires.
