Merck KGaA will invest about $23 million to expand capacity to make organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) at its sites in Pyeongtaek, South Korea, and Shanghai. The firm says it will spend the money on equipment for sublimating OLEDs to increase their purity. Kai Beckmann, head of Merck’s performance materials business, calls OLEDs the fastest-growing display technology.
