Bayer buys ag start-up Targenomix

Bayer has acquired Targenomix, a spin-off from the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Plant Physiology that has technology for identifying new pesticide modes of action. Targenomix’s approach combines systems biology, omics technologies, precision phenotyping, and computational tools. Bayer expects the acquisition to help accelerate the discovery of novel pesticides. Targenomix and its team of almost 30 researchers will operate as a stand-alone entity within Bayer.
