Cariflex plans to invest $50 million in this plant.

Cariflex plans to spend $50 million to double polyisoprene capacity at its plant in Paulínia, Brazil, by 2021. Cariflex is the polyisoprene latex business that Kraton sold to South Korea’s Daelim Industrial earlier this year for $530 million. Polyisoprene is a substitute for natural latex in applications such as surgical gloves, which are in high demand, Cariflex notes.
