Verdant buys ethoxylate specialist Baze Chemical

The surfactant maker Verdant Specialty Solutions has made another acquisition: Baze Chemical, a maker of ethoxylated chemicals for oil and gas production, mining, and water treatment. Baze has 82 employees across four US Gulf Coast sites. It is Verdant’s third acquisition since being formed in May, when OpenGate Capital acquired Solvay’s amphoteric surfactant unit. CEO John Foley has said he wants to triple the size of the company within 3 years.
